    Last Night’s Game: The Baysox o! ense broke out last night with a 15 run, 20 hit performance in a 15-7 victory
    over the Senators. Xavier Avery equaled a Baysox record with " ve hits in the game and also added two RBI. Six
    other players had multi-hit games including Lew Ford who had two more doubles and knocked in two runs. Caleb
    Joseph and Brian Ward knocked in three a piece. The Baysox scored runs in each of the " rst eight innings of the
    game. Jake Pettit picked up the win going six innings and allowing two runs on four hits with six strikeouts. In his
    Double-A debut, Chris Treinen got the loss going 2.1 innings and allowing eight runs on nine hits.
    Starting Pitchers: RHP Kevin Gausman makes his " rst o# cial Double-A start this evening... Signed at the deadline
    after being selected fourth overall by the Orioles... Began his professional career in Aberdeen... Threw three no-
    hit innings his " rst outing with two strikoeuts and followed it up with three one-hit innings his second outing...
    Allowed just one baserunner total in his two games... Promoted to Frederick on 8/18 and struggled in his " rst
    outing throwing three innings, but allowing four runs on four hits with one strikeout and his lone walk... Allowed
    two home runs in the game... Second outing allowed two runs on " ve hits in three innings with one home run...
    Promoted to Bowie for the playo! s so did not accumulate any o# cial statistics at Double-A... In the playo! s started
    game three and went 3 scoreless innings allowing just two hits while striking out " ve without a walk... Faced just 10
    batters and exited the game with a 2-0 lead, but Bowie would lose 4-3...
    RHP Paul Demny makes his 2013 debut tonight for the Senators... Spent the majority of 2012 in the Harrisburg
    rotation going 6-8, 5.46 ERA, 123.2 IP, 97 K, 61 BB in 28 games, 23 starts... First 21 appearances were all starts, but
    moved to the bullpen for seven of his " nal nine appearances... Best outing of the season came against Bowie on
    5/20 when he pitched a season high eight shutout innings and allowed just two hits... After being moved to the
    pen in August had back to back scoreless outings, but allowed four runs in " nal three relief appearances of the
    year... Originally selected in the sixth round of the 2008 MLB Draft out of Blinn College...
    Bringing out the Bats: The Baysox 20 hits last night were more than they had in any game in 2012... Their season
    high last year was 19 and it also came against the Harrisburg Senators on 8/23/12... On that day they also set a
    season high with 17 runs...
    LEEEEEWWWW: Lew Ford got his 2013 o! to a hot start with a double and a two-run home in the season opener...
    This is the second time in Ford’s career that he has homered in his " rst game of the season... The last time he did it
    was on 4/10/04 while playing for the Minnesota Twins... Senators Manager Matt Lecroy was also on the Twins roster
    at that time... He followed it up with another multi-hit, multi-RBI game last night
    Wheeler Still Rolling: Zelous Wheeler opened up his 2013 season with a 2-for-4 game then followed it up with a
    three hit game last night... He is picking up right where he ended last season... In Wheeler’s " nal 13 regular season
    games of 2012 he batted .455 (15-33) with 2 HR, 11 RBI... He now has eight multi-hit games in his last 15 regular
    season games...
    TAKE TWO: Through two games this season the Baysox have hit 12 doubles which is twice as many as the next
    closest team in the Eastern League... Lew Ford and Zelous Wheeler are tied for the league lead with three a piece...
    Bowie has hit more doubles so far than any other team in a# liated baseball... The next closest are Kannapolis and
    Rome in the South Atlantic League with eight each...
    Top Prospects: The Baysox opening day roster features four of the Orioles top 10 prospects including the top two
    prospects in the system... Dylan Bundy is the #1 prospect in the system and #2 overall prospect in minor league
    baseball... Kevin Gausman was the Orioles top pick last season and is the #2 prospect in the system... Xavier Avery
    ranked #7 and the team’s opening day starter Mike Wright ranked #8 are also in the top 10...
    New to the System: There are " ve players on the Baysox opening day roster that did not play in the Orioles system
    last year... Out" elder Kyle Hudson was originally an Orioles fourth round draft pick, but split last year between the
    Tampa and Phillies organizations after playing the " rst four seasons of his career in the Orioles system... Reliever
    Tom Boleska pitched last year for Fargo-Moorhead (Indy), reliever Zech Zinicola spent the " rst seven years of his
    career in the Nationals organization, catcher Luis Martinez played in the Rangers organization including 10 games
    in the majors and pitcher Julio Rodriguez was in the Reading Phillies rotation all of last season...
