We're gonna, get us one.
And we did! Tremendous pitching and defense, A two run homer, and Zach Britton for the save.
Wei-Yin Chen pitched three scoreless innings. He loaded the bases in the fourth, allowing only a sacrifice fly by Danny Valencia. "I thought ist was going to go out," said Wei-Yin Chen. He pitched five and a third innings, leaving with two base runners. He got the win. His 2014 record, 5-and-2.
Buck used his whole pen, with the exception of Hunter and Matusz and Meek. Who all warmed up. All hands on deck tonight. Scoreless until the ninth. Zach Britton got the close opportunity. 1-2-3. Save Rule. He only threw sinkers. Got three ground balls. No matchup here, Gordon was 6-for-8 against Britton, then two right handers.
Chris Davis walked in the fourth inning. Nelson Cruz did what he does, and hit a two run homer. In to the wind. His 12th of the season. The Orioles left an opportunity to score in the seventh behind when Nick Markakis singled on a line drive to left fielder Alex Gordon. J. J, Hardy (who had been on second base for two batters) was out at home on the throw. It should not have been close, a very tough send, but Hardy did a swim slide and was almost safe anyway. Almost.
