    Written by Chris Slade

    Overview

Tonight's game got under way at 7:05 and featured Wei-Yin Chen and Rubby De La Rosa on the mound. The Orioles jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the first, highlighted by a Chris Davis two-run shot, and never looked back. Nick Hundley hit an RBI single in the 4th and Jonathan Schoop and Nick Markakis drew bases loaded walks in the 8th.

    Starting Pitching

Wei-Yin Chen turned in one of his best outings of the season. He may have gone a complete game in this one had the game not been delayed by rain after the 7th inning. He threw just 87 pitches through 7 innnigs and has supreme fastball command tonight. He didn't walk a single batter while striking out seven and picked up a deserved win.

    Other Notes/ Musings

The rain delay after the 7th lasted 1 hour and 38 minutes. I spent the delay watching Pinneapple Express.

Chris Davis is finally in double digit home runs again and J.J. Hardy may not ever homer again.

The Blue Jays come to Baltimore tomorrow in a big four-game weekend set. Wins leader Mark Buerhle will oppose Kevin Gausman for the Orioles.
