Chris Davis Kills a Pitch; Orioles Take Back D.C. 8-2 in 11 Innings.

    Written by Michael Williams

    Overview

A classic game between two excellent teams. The Nationals bullpen blinked first. The Orioles had a six run explosion in the eleventh inning.  Buck Showalter managed it perfectly. He has done this before.

    Starting Pitching

-Chris Tillman matched Stephen Strasburg. He pitched seven innings and allowed just two runs on an Anthony Rendon homer. An Oriole fan caught it. And threw it back. Chris was hitting 94 mph towards the end of his stint.  He allowed only five hits and recorded six strikeouts.

    Relief Pirching

-T.J. Mcfarland pitched great for the two final innings and Darren O'Day saved the day for two as well.

    Hitters

-Manny Machado had a five hit day with a homer.

    -Nelson Cruz homered. His 28th.

    -J.J. Hardy homered.

-Chris Davis hit the Capitol. He was 0-for-12 before it.

    Fielding Highlights/Lowlights

-Manny Machado was flawless. Nelson Cruz caught a very well hit ball. Zimmerman is not an infielder any longer.

    Other Musings

-The Orioles have had 47 hits in the last three games.

-Tomorrow's matchup is Bud Norris against Doug Fister. Game time is at 7:05 PM.

Orioles win a great NL rules game.
