Wieters and Jones had good AB's every time up. Wieters with the homer, a single to RF, a great AB to force a walk, an intentional walk, and robbed of a hit by Longoria.
Jones with two solid shots to RF, a hotshot to Longoria and a bullet to Fuld, and of course the biggest hit of the game, a shot to LF for another double. Two outs, two runners on. Davis's shot put the game in hand but Jones had the biggest hit, IMO.
Davis with the big blast and hustles and almost gets the infield single late
Machado flashing the leather but not looking so good at bat despite a single.
Markakis with good AB's all day long and the big single in the 7th.
Hardy with a nice double. Reimold with two singles and a nice defensive play to start the game. Picked off and I thought he got a bad read on Roberts bloop single late in the game where some runners would have broke and made it to 3rd.
Pearce with no hits but a near miss homer foul ball against Price and a long flyout to right center late in the game.
Roberts with two singles and a good turn on the DP to end the game.
Hammel didn't appear to have his good stuff but got the job done. Bad leadoff walk to Kelly Johnson came back to bite him. Didn't have the big breaking curve and didn't seem to get on top of his pitches but did well enough.
Patton with a broken bat hit and a fly ball. O'Day comes in a does a great job to end the 7th and gets it done in the 8th.
Johnson gets it done in the 9th.
Overall, you could pick at Wieters errant throw which lead to a run, and a couple of instances when the O's didn't move a runner from 2nd over. Also, Davis grounded into a DP with bases loaded when the O's had a chance to break the game open early. Of course he atoned for it later. Al in all, a very solid game. Good defense. Good pitching. Good hitting and of course 5 runs via the homer. Good to see Jones going to RF. I thought we were in big trouble when McGee entered the game. Wow!
