    Welcome to the New Hangout

Well here it is, the new Hangout. What do you all think?

Personally, I love it. I love the look and feel of the site and the fact we we’ve moved to a dynamic database driven site. It’s a move I’ve wanted to do for years, but didn’t have the time or money to do.

Well, I still don’t have the time, but what I did find was an amazing web programmer named Anthony Petti. Not only does he have a cool name, what I found out is the guy is amazingly talented and has a fantastic work ethic to boot. Working nights, weekends and sometime deep into his sleep time to converse with me in Hawaii, Anthony has been a godsend.

We can’t be happier to have him as part of the Hangout family, and we look forward to him continuing to make this site better and better. That’s right, we’re not done, not by a long shot.

We’ve added a lot of new features one of which is my little blog here. Since I’m pretty darn busy most of the time with various Hangout and non-Hangout related things, I knew putting together full articles wasn’t in the cards anymore. So, what I decided was to put together a blog where I can just give a quick thought about the O’s, the minor leagues, the Hangout or anything else that comes to mind.

I’m not as witty as Paul, or statistically minded as Jon, Nowick or Ted, but hopefully this will be nice little niche for the site. I can’t claim to be as connected as THE BALTIMORE SUN’s Roch Kubatko, but hopefully I’ll be able to throw in a couple inside things from the minor leagues besides my opinion on things.

So this is it, we hope you like the new Hangout and we hope you look forward to another great season of Orioles coverage in 2006.
