    Farewell John!!!

As I’m sure you know by now, John Domen is leaving the Hangout to go on to bigger and better things. As sad as it is to see someone who’s been instrumental over the years to bringing you the Hangout, I’m elated to see him further his career.

I’ve known John for seven years now and during that time I’ve seen him grow into a fantastic writer and reporter. All along, I knew it was just a matter of time before he was given a national opportunity and now the opportunity has come to fruition.

Over the years John has done minor league coverage, major league coverage, and managing editor duties while I was away in Afghanistan. Without John, I seriously would have considered shutting the Hangout down during that deployment, but knowing John was taking care of things allowed me the peace of mind to keep the site running.

More importantly than his work on the Hangout, I’ve been lucky enough to gain a friend along the way. I count John among a handful of my closest friends and I’m glad to say that won’t change with his departure from our Hangout staff.

With mixed emotions we say goodbye to John, but it’s with a happy heart that we say, “Good luck and farewell my friend.”
