Cabrera goes the distance in O's win
The Orioles, behind a sensational complete-game gem from Daniel Cabrera, enjoyed a satisfying 5-2 win over the Royals. Coming off a rough, winless June, the enigmatic right-hander overcame a leadoff homerun and went the distance for the second time this year, garnering his sixth victory and giving a much-needed rest to a weary O’s bullpen. Cabrera’s teammates gave him early run support thanks to an Aubrey Huff homerun and a three-hit night by surprise cleanup hitter Ramon Hernandez.
