Catchers needed for Spring Training, Castillo gone for thee weeks

New Orioles catcher Welington Castillo has decided to represent the Dominican Republic along with new teammate Manny Machado. With Austin Wynns hurt in the Series Del Caribe, the Orioles appear to be short on spring training catchers.

Broadcaster and former Oriole great Mike Bordick told us last evening that he and many other Orioles employees and players would love to have Matt Wieters back on a one year deal.

Concerns about Wieter’s hand injury being more serious than Scott Boras had let on still cloud the issue.

Boras says multiple teams are putting in their final offers for the former Oriole.
