Wade Miley turned in one of his best starts as an Oriole tonight. He held the Reds to just two hits over 8 strong innings of work, with his only mistake being a solo home run served up to Joey Votto. Miley walked just one batter and struck out 11. He is the Hangout Player of the Game.
Hitting
- Former Oriole Scott Feldman was up for the challenge of going toe to toe with Miley tonight. He worked 7 innings while allowing just four hits and one run, walking zero while striking out four.
- Jonathan Schoop was responsible for the lone run against Feldman with a solo blast in the 3rd inning. That’s his 3rd of the season.
- In extra innings, J.J. Hardy delivered the go ahead run on an RBI single in the top of the 10th that scored Mark Trumbo. Hardy finished 2-for-4 with a double.
Relief
- Darren O’Day took over in the 9th and looked more like the O’Day we are used to seeing. He retired the side in order, striking out two in the process.
- Brad Brach retired the side in order for the second consecutive night to earn his second save in as many chances. He has yet to allow a run over 8 innings while striking out 12.
