The Orioles won on the road for first time in fourteen tries. Alex Cobb and Andrew Susac were poised and steady through six inning plus, The bullpen held. Of course the bats, they love Pomeranz.

Player of the Game

Alex Cobb. He allowed only three runs through six and a third innings to give the Orioles a chance. A quality start and his first Orioles Win. He is the Orioles Hangout Player of the Game.

Starting Pitching

Alex Cobb allowed a massive home run and Mookie Betts just owned him. But constantly sitting 92 MPH he appeared to have much better fastball command and looked comfortable throwing to his batterymate Andrew Susac. Who controlled the running game tonight. Cobb is known for holding runners and Susac did his part with a bullet to the correct side of the second base bag for a caught stealing.

Hitting

  • Manny Machado went three for five with two doubles. He has a 1.093 OPS for the season.
  • Adam Jones was two for five with some extremely clutch hitting.
  • Trey Mancini singled and walked twice. He was removed for defensive help later in the game.

Other Pitching

  • Brad Brach notched the save with an inning and a third.
  • Mychal Givens worked an inning with no EARNED RUNS.
  • Richard Bleier pitched two thirds of a scoreless inning. Nothing EARNED.

Fielding Exploits

  • Two double plays. Important too.
  • Trey Mancini put the victory at great risk with a Goofus-like overrun of a foul ball that cascaded off his gove into fair territory and became a double that later scored.
