Wilson Garcia had a big day going 3-for-4 with two home runs to be the Hangout Minor League Player of the Night! The 24-year old switch hitter has been the Keys best hitter since Ryan McKenna was promoted.

Norfolk Tides (44 – 39) Won 10 to 5 – Triple-A

  • Cedric Mullins went 3-for-5 with two doubles to raise his AAA average to .278
  • 24-year old 3B Renato Nunez hit his 3rd home run of the season in a 3-for-5 effort
  • DJ Stewart had a tough day going 0-for-5 with four strikeouts. He’s slashing just .191/.316/.340/.656 over his last 13 games.

Bowie Baysox (37 – 47) won 7-6 – Double-A

  • Ryan Mountcastle went 3-for-6 with a double
  • Luis Gonzalez struck out three in two shutout innings of work. The left-handed reliever has a 2.41 ERA on the season.
  • Ryan McKenna went 1-for-4 with a walk. After a slow start he’s batting .250 at AA.

Frederick Keys (38 – 45) Lost 5 to 3 – Class A Advanced

  • Matthias Dietz struggled in High-A debut allowing five runs on seven hits and three walks while striking out four over five innings of work.
  • Wilson Garcia provided all the offense going 3-for-4 with two home runs and all three RBIs.

Delmarva Shorebirds (43 – 38) won 3 to 0 – Class A

  • Luis Perez tossed six shutout innings allowing just five hits while striking out six.
  • Zach Jarrett went 2-for-3 with a double, a walk and an RBI.

Aberdeen IronBirds (9 – 10) Won 7 to 1 – Class A Short Season

GCL Orioles (5 – 9) won 6 to 4 – Rookie

  • Zach McLeod hit his first professional home run in a 2-for-4 effort
  • Dallas Litscher tossed three shutout innings, striking out four
