Still less than six months since being hired to completely rebuild the Orioles organization, Mike Elias is one busy man.

Without a true scouting director or farm director hired yet, Elias is basically wearing those hats as well as his General Manager duties. While, Sig Mejdal is clearly is closest confident and adviser, Elias has decided to be very hands on on his first year as he learns his new organization.

Despite his busy schedule, Elias was gracious enough to sit down with us to discuss his philosophies on the amateur draft and the minor leagues.

While our interview was not intended to be an actual verbal interview piece, we felt it was easier if you heard it directly from the man himself. Elias discusses his thoughts on drafting a catcher with the 1st overall pick and his philosophies on promoting players among other things.
