Brenan Hanifee tossed a complete game five-hit shutout for the Frederick Keys; it was the first Keys CG shutout since 2013. He scattered five hits (1 double) and struck out 4 in the contest. He threw 91 pitches, 65 of which were strikes, in the effort while improving his season record to 6-9. He is the Orioles Hangout MiLB Player of the Day.
NORFOLK TIDES (35-58) LOST 8-4 AT DURHAM – AAA
- Ryan Mountcastle went 1 for 4 with 1 run scored, 1 homerun, 1 RBI and 2 strikeouts.
- Luis Ysla gave up 4 runs on 3 hits with 6 walks, 4 strikeouts and 1 hit batter over 3.0 innings pitched. He was tagged with the loss, his sixth.
BOWIE BAYSOX (48-43) WON 4-2 AT AKRON – AA
- Yusniel Diaz went 3 for 4 with 2 runs scored, 3 doubles, 1 RBI and was hit by a pitch.
- Zac Lowther gave up 1 run on 1 hit while striking out 8 over 6.2 innings pitched. With the win he is 10-5 on the year.
FREDERICK KEYS (37-57) WON 6-0 OVER SALEM – A (ADV.)
- Zach Jarrett went 2 for 4 with 1 run scored, 1 homerun, 3 RBI and 2 strikeouts.
- Patrick Dorrian went 1 for 4 with 1 run scored, 1 homerun, 2 RBI and 1 strikeout.
