Austin Hays made it three games in a row with an Orioles with a multiple home run game as he crushed two in a 12-4 win over the Pirates. The Orioles have won five straight.

Austin Hays got the Orioles on the board in the bottom of the first with a leadoff solo home run to put the Orioles up 1-0. After two more got on. Anthony Santander crushed a fastball down the the RF line scoring two to make it 3-0. Later in the inning, Chris Davis smacked a two-run opposite field homer to make it 5-0. That is Davis’ first home run of the season.
The Pirates got one back in the top of the 2nd with a two-out RBI single to make it 5-1 then edged closer 5-2 with an infield RBI single int eh 4th against John Means.
In the bottom of the 5th, the Orioles extended the lead to 6-2 when Davis collected his 3rd hit of the game to score Santander. The Orioles then loaded the bases when Hays hit his second a homer of the game, a grand slam to center to break it open 10-2.
The Pirates though started to get to Means in the top of the 6th when they played one and put runners on 2nd and 3rd when Brandon Hyde had seen a enough when he brought in Paul Fry. Fry got a ground out to score a run but a fly out to end the inning and keep it a 10-4 lead.
In the bottom of the 7th, C Chance Sisco hit his first home run of the season to stretch the lead to 11-4.
Cole Sulser pitched the final two and two-third shutout innings as the Orioles finished off a sweep of the Pirates with a 12-4 win. That’s five straight for the Orioles who now are even at 8-8 on the season.

Norfolk lost 2-3 (2-2)
Keegan Akin tossed four shutout innings but had to be taken out due to injury. Cody Carroll couldn’t get an out on the 8th and and was charged with the loss after giving up two earned runs. LF Ryan Mountcastle went 2-for-4 and C Bryan Holaday went 3-for-4 to lead the offense.
Bowie Off (2-1)
Baysox were off.
Keys lost 5-6 in 14 innings (2-2)
DH Jomar Reyes went 3-for-7 with a 2B, 3B and homer to lead the Keys offense but Mattias Diaz allowed a run in the bottom of the 14th for the loss.
