Orioles Injury News

Cobb goes on 60-day IL

After seeking a second opinion, the Orioles announced they have placed Alex Cobb (3-0, 2.30) on the 60-day injured list with right Rotator Cuff Inflammation. Orioles doctors believe extended rest and rehabilitation could have Cobb back on the mound by the late July and said surgery is not needed at this time.

The Orioles promoted left-handed reliever Tanner Scott to replace him on the 26-man roster. Manager Brandon Hyde said that Kohl Stewart may be in line to replace Cobb in the rotation but no final decision as been made.

Hays with mild calf strain

Good news for Austin Hays and the Orioles as he was diagnosed with a mild calf strain after coming out of Wednesday’s game against the Cubs. He’s day to day and may be held out over the weekend, but a return early next week is expected with no setbacks. He will not be placed on the IL.

Urena goes on IL at Norfolk

Norfolk infielder Richard Urena was diagnosed with a strained oblique and will miss at least 3-weeks. He was placed on the 7-day IL.
