Starting Pitcher: Jose Deleon (0-0, 0.00) Orioles debut

Orioles starter Jose Deleon made it interesting in the first inning, loading the bases with a base hit and two walk, but also striking out the side in a 25-pitch inning.

The Orioles got on the board when Andrew Velezquez hit into a 5-4-3 double play that scored Jose Iglesias who had doubled earlier in the inning to make it 1-0.

The Orioles got back on the board against former Orioles Dylan Bundy when Austin Hays smacked an opposite field two-run home run to make it 3-0.

At 97 pitches, Deleon was pulled by Brandon Hyde after tossing five shutout innings. He ended up walking three and allowing four hits, but got out of jams with six strikeouts. Hyde brought in Glenn Sparkman to start the 6th.

The Angels ended up getting one back in the top of the 7th off Sparkman when Albert Pujols hit his 3rd home run of the season.

In the bottom of the 7th, Hays got that run right back with his second home run of the game, his 12th of the year to make it 4-1. Back to back doubles by Aristide Aquino and Pedro Severino made it 5-1. Yusniel Diaz then came up and smashed a 432 ft home run to right field, his first of his major league career to extend the lead to 7-1.

In the top of the 8th, Ian Hamilton came on to make his Orioles debut and had a tall order facing the Mike Trout, Matt Joyce and Justin Upton, the Angels 3-4-5 hitters. After getting Trout to line out, he allowed a sharp single to right by, Joyce, but set down Upton and Jason Castro on strikes. A very nice debut for Hamilton.

Tanner Scott finish off the game with a perfect 9th as the Orioles win 7-1. Every Oriole in the lineup got at least one hit in the 14th-hit attack. The Orioles improve to 14-24.

Player of the game: Austin Hays (2-for-5, 2 HRs, 3 RBI)
