(Sim) Orioles trade Givens and Alberto to SD for four prospects

The Orioles and the Padres finalized a deal this afternoon. Baltimore has traded for 25-year-old minor league RHP David Bednar, 24-year-old minor league LHP Jose Castillo, 24-year-old minor league RHP Javy Guerra and 25-year-old minor league RHP Cal Quantrill and in return San Diego will receive 30-year-old RHP Mychal Givens and 27-year-old 2B Hanser Alberto.

Sulser and Tate sent to Rangers for LHP Joely Rodriguez

Not finished, The Orioles sent two righthanded relievers in Cole Sulser and Dillon Tate for LHP Joely Rodriguez. After a year in Japan, Rodriguez was signed by the Texas Ranges and has pitched well with a 1.93 ERA this season.

Rodriguez will be added to the 26-man roster and Ian Hamilton was optioned to Norfolk.

Wojciechowski activated from IL

Asher Wojciechowski was activated off the IL and and Richie Martin was promoted to the Orioles to replace Alberto.
