In a game that was essentially over after 4 innings with the Blue Jays leading 10-0, the Baltimore Orioles fought back, but it was not enough.
Back-to-back homers by Ramon Urias and Cedric Mullins in the 5th inning and a Jose Iglesias homerun in the 6th inning gave the game the look of a slugfest; the Orioles only scored twice more, however.
Mullins finished 1 for 4 with 1 run scored and 2 RBI. Urias and Iglesias each finished 1 for 4 with 1 run scored and 1 RBI.
Hanser Alberto went 2 for 4 with a double, 1 run scored and 1 RBI while Ryan Mountcastle went 2 for 3 with a walk.
Orioles starter Jorge Lopez allowed 8 runs on 9 hits over 2.0 innings. Lopez walked 1, struck out 1, hit a batter and surrendered a Randal Grichuk homerun.
By game’s end, every Toronto batter had recorded at leas 1 hit.
Branden Kline pitched 2.0 scoreless innings of relief; he walked 1 and struck out 1.
The Orioles (24-34) are currently 2.0 games above the last place Boston Red Sox in the A.L. East.
