The Baltimore Orioles concluded the Coronavirus season of 2020 with a 7-5 victory over the Toronto Blue Jays.
Cedric Mullins led the way with a 2 for 4, 2 triple, 1 run scored and 2 RBI day. The Orioles centerfielder missed a homerun by inches in the second inning when Blue Jays right fielder Jonathan Davis made a highlight reel catch at the fence.
Renato Nunez went 2 for 4 with a double, a walk, a run scored and 1 RBI. Ryan Mountcastle contributed to the effort with a 2 for 5, 1 run scored line.
Keegan Akin started and lasted 3.0 innings allowing 4 runs on 5 hits with 1 walk and 4 strikeouts. He also surrendered homers to Vladimir Guerrero, Jr and Lourdes Gurriel, Jr.
Travis Lakins, Sr earned the win, his third, with a 2.0 scoreless inning relief effort in which he walked 1 and struck out 2.
Hunter Harvey bounced back from last night’s struggles with a clean two out performance in the 7th inning. Cesar Valdez notched his 3rd save with a clean 9th inning.
For the record, Orioles pitching held Randal Grichuk to a 1 for 4, 1 run scored, 1 strikeout game.
The Orioles finished the season with a 25-35 record, good for 4th place in the A.L. East.
