Quick Scouting Report Update: Not a lot to add to his scouting report last year, but there is some concern that he’s not making many adjustments at the plate and can still be pitched to by good pitching. Improve a bit defensively though his routes are typically pretty safe and he’s not a guy that leaves his feet much. He has an average defensively right fielders arm and is able to fill in at center field though a team wouldn’t want him out there too much.
He’s always been a guy who plays better with the big crowds so it’s probably safe to say the auxiliary camp may not have been the best environment for him. He does have some good plate coverage and can flash game power occasionally, but still not able to get to that power enough to be more than a 15-20 homer guy most likely.
There’s still a chance he takes a step forward in the bright lights of the big leagues, so don’t give up on him as an everyday guy one day. Still, a better man says he ends up a lower division starter or 4th outfielder on a good team.
