The Baltimore Orioles were swept by the Seattle Mariners in Thursday’s doubleheader, losing Game 1 on Jackie Robinson Day by a score of 4-2 and Game 2 by a tally of 2-1. Wednesday’s rain out necessitated the twin bill.
Game 1 was highlighted by Trey Mancini’s (1 for 3, 2 RBI) first inning homerun.
Cedric Mullins went 0 for 3 in the game. Matt Harvey started (4.2 IP, 3 H, 2 R, 1 BB, 3 K) and Tanner Scott (1.0 IP, 2 H, 2 R, 1 BB, 2 K) took the loss, his second of the season.
Bruce Zimmermann started Game 2 and surrendered homeruns to Dylan Moore and Mitch Haniger. Zimmermann took the loss for his 5.0 innings of work; he allowed 2 runs on 6 hits while walking 3 and striking out 2.
The Orioles were limited to three hits, including a Freddy Galvis (1 for 3, 1 R, 1 RBI) third inning homerun.
In the twin bill, the Orioles were limited to 7 hits total; in fact no Oriole had a multiple hit day.
