The Baltimore Orioles traveled to Globe Life Field in Texas and defeated the Rangers 5 to 2 The win improved the O’s record away from home to 5-2 as contrasted by their 1-6 record at Oriole Park at Camden Yards.
Orioles starter Jorge Lopez (5.0 IP, 2 R, 2 H, 1 BB, 8 K) got the best of Rangers starter Mike Foltynewicz (5.0 IP, 5 R, 7 H, 1 BB, 6 K) and was credited with the win. Lopez had a no-hitter going through 4 innings but lost that bid after giving up back-to-back homeruns to David Dahl and Nick Solak to start the 5th inning.
Homeruns by Rio Ruiz (1 for 3, 1 H, 1 R, 1 BB) and DJ Stewart (1 for 4, 1 H, 1 R, 2 RBI), his first of the season, propelled the Birds to the win.
Cedric Mullins went 2 for 4 with a double, a run scored and 1 RBI.
Freddy Galvis went 2 for 3 with a double, a triple and 2 runs scored.
Cesar Valdez (1.0 IP, 1 H, 1 K) earned his 3rd save of 2021.
