The Baltimore Orioles lost a second game to the Oakland A’s by a score of 7-2 on a rainy night in Baltimore. With the win, the A’s extended their winning streak to 13 games.
RBI doubles by Chance Sisco (2 for 4, 1 RBI) in the 2nd inning and Trey Mancini (1 for 4, 1 RBI) in the 5th accounted for all the Orioles scoring. Additionally, Austin Hays went 2 for 4 with 1 run scored.
Wade LeBlanc started for the Orioles and lasted just 1.2 innings. The lefty gave up 4 runs on 6 hits while walking 1 and striking out 2; he took the loss.
Tyler Wells relieved LeBlanc and didn’t fare much better, allowing 3 runs on 3 hits with 1 walk and 4 strikeouts. The big blow was a 3 run homerun off the bat of Jed Lowrie in the 4th inning.
Despite 10 hits, the Orioles were 2 for 8 with runners in scoring position.
Oakland starter Chris Bassitt (6.0 IP, 2 R, 8 H, 1 BB, 8 K) limited the Orioles scoring and took the win.
Following the game, MASN’s Roch Kubatko reported that the Orioles were going to DFA LeBlanc.
