A pair of two-run homeruns, hit by Cedric Mullins (3 for 5, 1 Run, 2 RBI) and Freddy Galvis (1 for 4, 1 Run, 2 RBI), were the highlight of the inning. A groundout by Maikel Franco (1 for 4, 1 2B, 1 RBI) allowed Austin Hays (1 for 4, 1 Run, 1 2B, 1 BB), who had hit a double, to score.
Shawn Armstrong allowed a two-run homer to Mitch Haniger to bring the Mariners within 2 runs. Cesar Valdez struck out two in the 9th inning to earn his 7th save.
A quality start by Dean Kremer set the stage for the win, The right-hander allowed 1 run, a homerun by Tom Murphy, on 2 hits while walking 2 and striking out 4 over 6.0 innings.
Pat Valaika helped the offense by going 2 for 3 with 1 run scored and 1 walk.
