The Baltimore Orioles returned home to Camden Yards on Friday and lost to the New York Yankees by a score of 5-4. Three Yankee homeruns, 2 solos by Aaron Judge and a pinch-hit three-run homer by Gio Urshela, sealed the Orioles fate.
Austin Hays (1 for 3, 1 run scored, 1 RBI, 1 BB) hit his 5th homerun in the 1st inning to match Judge’s 1st inning blast.
DJ Stewart went 3 for 3 with a double and 1 run scored.
Cedric Mullins went 2 for 4 as well.
Orioles starter Dean Kremer deserved better for his 5.0 IP, 5 H, 2 runs allowed and 4 strikeout effort. Travis Lakins, Sr. (1.2 IP, 1 H, 1 R, 2 K) surrendered Urshela’s blast which wiped out the lead the Orioles had after their 3 run 5th inning.
Cole Sulser (0.1 IP, 1 H, 2 R, 1 BB, 1 K) put the traffic on the bases for Urshela to bring home.
