He earned his second win against 3 losses for his efforts.
Five Orioles doubles and a Maikel Franco (3 for 4, 2 Runs scored, 1 2B, 3 RBI) homerun propelled the Birds past the Yankees.
In a game that was planned to be a bullpen game, Adam Plutko started and lasted just 1.0 inning. He allowed 4 runs on 4 hits (2 homeruns) while walking 1.
Zimmermann settled the game down upon appearing in the second inning which allowed the Orioles to catch and surpass the Yankees.
Ryan Mountcastle went 2 for 4 with a double, a run scored and 4 RBI.
Cedric Mullins contributed to the victory with a 1 for 5, 1 double, 2 runs scored and 1 stolen base day.
For the record, Aaron Judge blasted his 4th homer of the series in the 3rd inning at Zimmermann’s expense.
