The Baltimore Orioles lost 13-6 to Tampa Bay on Tuesday. Matt Harvey started and served up two “Earl Weaver Specials” in the 2nd inning, one to Brett Phillips and the other to Austin Meadows. Harvey couldn’t get out of the second inning and finished with a line of 1.2 IP, 7 R, 6 H, 1 BB, 1 K. He suffered the loss as well.
Prior to the game Rio Ruiz was DFA’d and the contract of Stevie Wilkerson was purchased. Wilkerson honored the promotion by going 2 for 4 with a double, 2 runs scored and 1 RBI.
DJ Stewart went 2 for 5 with 1 RBI.
Trey Mancini went 1 for 4 with 1 run scored, 1 RBI and a walk.
Manager Brandon Hyde employed 4 relievers, Tyler Wells, Travis Lakins, Sr., Cole Sulser and Shawn Armstrong. Of the group, Sulser was most effective; he tossed 1.2 scoreless, hitless innings while walking 1 and striking out 2.
