Monday’s 4-3 loss in Cleveland was the Baltimore Orioles fifth consecutive loss as well as the team’s sixteenth consecutive road loss. Sadly and painfully, they had to wait out a nearly one hour rain delay before the start of the game and the loss in the end.
Dean Kremer started and spotted the Indians a three-run lead in the first inning. He settled down after that and finished with a line of 5.1 innings pitched, 4 runs, 3 earned, 4 hits, 2 strike outs and a hit batter. The loss dropped his season record to 0-6.
Anthony Santander went 1 for 4 with a double and a run scored. Pinch hitting for Stevie Wilkerson (1 for 2), Maikel Franco went 1 for 1 with one RBI, drawing the Orioles to within a run but it would be the last run of the night for the Orioles.
Deserving of an All-Star Game spot, Cedric Mullins went 1 for 3 with a walk and 2 stolen bases.
DJ Stewart went 0 for 3 with a walk, a run scored and 1 RBI.
The team went 1 for 9 with runners in scoring position.
