The Scottsdale Scorpions (2-1) lost to the Peoria Javelinas 6-5 on Wednesday. Heston Kjerstad started his third game of the AFL season and went 2 for 5 with a double, 1 run scored and 1 RBI.
Right-hander Noah Denoyer started the game and held the Javelinas to 1 run on 3 hits while walking 2, striking out 5 and hitting 2 batters over 2.2 innings. He threw 59 pitches (33 strikes) and did not factor into the decision.
Easton Lucas (0-1) allowed 1 run on 2 hits with 1 walk and 1 strike out pitching the ninth inning and was tagged with the loss.
