The Baltimore Orioles lost Wednesday’s game to the Milwaukee Brewers by a score of 4-2, dropping the series to the Brewers, and in the process lost their staff ace for at least a few games.
John Means left the game with left forearm tightness. Tests are scheduled for Thursday to determine the extent of the injury. Hopefully it is just something that is connected to the shortened Spring Training and will just require rest.
Means lasted 4.0 innings and allowed 2 runs on 2 hits while walking 1 and striking out 2.
The Brewers took an early 2 run lead only to see the Orioles tie the game in the eighth inning. Ryan Mountcastle (1 for 4, 1 RBI) hit a RBI single and Trey Mancini (0 for 3, 1 RBI) hit a RBI sacrifice fly to even the score. Two Milwaukee runs in the ninth were the difference.
Rougned Odor went 1 for 2 with a double and was hit by a pitch.
Anthony Santander went 1 for 2 with a walk and was also hit by a pitch.
Jorge Lopez (0-1) took the loss with his 2 run, 3 hit, 1 walk and 1 strikeout effort over 0.2 innings.
