Sunday’s game in Boston was not pretty. By the end of the 4th inning, Boston had hit 5 homeruns on the way to a 12-2 win over the Baltimore Orioles.
Boston fans have Orioles starter Bruce Zimmermann (2-3) to thank for the souvenirs as he gave up all five homeruns, two in the 2nd inning, one in the 3rd and 2 in the 4th. Zimmermann was tagged with the loss, allowing 6 runs on 8 hits over 4.0 innings of work. He walked 1, struck out 2 and threw a wild pitch as well.
Cody Sedlock was treated rudely as well. Making his MLB debut, six years in the making, the right-hander gave up 5 runs on 6 hits with 1 walk and 3 strikeouts in 3.0 innings pitched.
Trey Mancini went 3 for 3 with a double, 1 RBI and a walk.
Adley Rutschman went 0 for 2 with a run scored and walked twice.
Cedric Mullins went 1 for 4 with a double and 1 run scored.
