Sunday’s game between the Baltimore Orioles and the Cincinnati Reds was scoreless through the first five innings. Baltimore starter Austin Voth did all he could do over that span, allowing 4 hits and striking out 6. Once Voth departed the game the Reds were able to cross the plate twice in the sixth inning.
Cedric Mullins (0 for 0, 1 RBI) pinch hit, RBI-sacrifice fly in the 7th drew the Birds close and Anthony Santander’s (3 for 4, 1 run scored, 1 RBI) homerun in the 8th tied the game.
Felix Bautista (1.1 IP, 1 H, 1 R, 1 BB, 1 K), who entered the game in the 7th, gave up a homerun to Brandon Drury in the 8th inning. That homerun provided the win for the Reds. Bautista was the pitcher of record and is now 3-3 on the season.
Ryan Mountcastle went 1 for 3 with a run scored and a walk.
Joey Krehbiel struck out 1 in 1.0 inning of relief.
