Wednesday’s 6-3 win over the Texas Rangers completed a season sweep of the Texas Rangers. The win was a combined team effort. Veterans, newbies and newly acquired players all had a hand in the win.
It started with Kyle Bradish on the mound. The right-hander went 5.0 innings and allowed just 1 run on 3 hits with 3 walks, 5 strikeouts, a hit batter and a wild pitch thrown.
Homeruns by Ryan McKenna (1 for 2, 1 Run Scored, 1 RBI, 1 BB) and Robinson Chirinos (3 for 4, 1 Run Scored, 2 RBI) put the Birds in the lead by 1 after 6.5 innings. Terrin Vavra (1 for 1, 1 Run Scored, 1 RBI) put the Orioles in the lead for good with an eighth inning pinch hit RBI-double.
Cionel Perez (6-1) struck out 1 in 1.1 innings of relief to earn the win.
Anthony Santander went 1 for 5 with a double, 1 run scored and 1 RBI.
Tyler Nevin went 1 for 3 with a double.
Brett Phillips made his Orioles debut, replacing McKenna in left field and went 0 for 2 with 2 strikeouts.
