Following in the footsteps of former number 1 prospect, Adley Rutschman, another number 1 prospect debuted for the Baltimore Orioles. Gunnar Henderson made his MLB debut and contributed to the Orioles 4-0 victory over the Cleveland Guardians.

Henderson batted sixth in the lineup and played third base. His first at bat was an oddity as he was out on a foul pop to left field that turned into a double play when Ryan Mountcastle (1 for 4) was doubled up.

His second at bat, leading off the fourth inning, resulted in a homerun to right-center. After grounding out in the sixth, Henderson singled in the ninth to finish his debut 2 for 4 with a homerun, 1 run scored and 1 RBI. Not too shabby for what he called probably just 45 minutes of sleep that he got in between Norfolk and Cleveland.

Ramon Urias (1 for 3, 1 homerun, 1 run scored, 3 RBI and a walk) accounted for the remaining Orioles runs with a bases-loaded walk in the third and a two-run homerun in the eighth.

Rutschman went 0 for 3 with a run scored and a walk.

Jordan Lyles (10-9) was the starter and winning pitcher, allowing 4 hits while walking 3 and striking out 2 over 6.2 innings.

Felix Bautista pitched a three-up, three-down ninth inning.
