The Baltimore Orioles travelled down the BW Parkway and defeated the Washington Nationals 4-3 on Tuesday night. The win allowed the Birds to gain a half-game in the ever evolving American League Wild Card race.

A two run fifth inning not only gave the Orioles the lead for good, it also gave Dean Kremer (7-5) the win. Kremer allowed all three Nationals runs on 8 hits while walking 1 and striking out 1 over 5.0 innings.

The bullpen trio of Dillon Tate (1.1 IP, 1 K), Cionel Perez (1.2 IP, 1 K) and Felix Bautista (1.0 IP, 1 BB, 2 K) held Washington in check the rest of the way with Bautista notching his 13th save.

The Orioles got to face former Oriole Hunter Harvey in the game and tagged the loss on the reliever. Ryan Mountcastle, Harvey’s former minor league roommate, homered off the right-hander in the fifth inning to finish the game 2 for 3 with a run scored, 1 RBI and 2 walks.

The winning run came in the fifth when an Austin Hays (2 for 4, 1 2B, 1 run scored, 1 RBI) double plated Gunnar Henderson (2 for 5, 1 2B, 1 run scored, 1 RBI).

Adley Rutschman went 2 for 4 with a double, 1 run scored and a walk.
