The Baltimore Orioles began a four game series with the Houston Astros with a 2-0 win on Thursday night. As a follow-up to Wednesday’s complete game effort by Jordan Lyles, Kyle Bradish (4-7) went 8.2 innings Thursday night.

The rookie right-hander allowed 2 singles and struck out 10, throwing 100 pitches (70 strikes) in doing so. Bradish held the Astros hitless for 5.2 innings and made Trey Mancini’s return to Baltimore an “o-fer”; Mancini went 0 for 3. Bradish also struck out the side in the 3rd inning, culminating in a five strikeout streak.

Felix Bautista needed 6 pitches to get the final out of the game via strikeout, earning his 15th save of the season.

In a return to the lineup, Rougned Odor (1 for 3, 2 RBI) singled in both Orioles runs in the second inning. Scoring the two runs were Ryan Mountcastle (2 for 3) and Terrin Vavra (1 for 3).

Cedric Mullins went 2 for 4 with a double.

Kyle Stowers went 1 for 3.

Friday’s starter, Dean Kremer, has two tough acts to follow.
