It would have ben unrealistic to think the Orioles could continue to hold the Houston Astros scoreless in their four-game series. Saturday night, Houston finally scored and score they did; the Astros beat the Orioles 11-10.
Anthony Santander did his part to put the O’s in the win column. The right-fielder went 3 for 5 with 2 homeruns, 2 runs scored and 3 RBI. It was his 8th inning two-run homerun that gave the Orioles a 9-7 lead.
The train went off the tracks in the 9th inning. With Felix Bautista (1-1) pitching, the Astros scored 4 runs by loading the bases and knocking in runs with a ground out, a single and a double. In the end Bautista allowed 4 runs on 4 hits with 2 walks and 2 strikeouts oner 1.1 innings of relief; he was the losing pitcher.
Rougned Odor (3 for 5, 2 Runs Scored, 3 RBI) homered to lead off the 9th but the Orioles could not add on.
Cedric Mullins went 1 for 5 with a homerun, 1 run scored and 2 RBI.
Ryan Mountcastle went 3 for 5 with a run scored and 1 RBI.
Adley Rutschman went 2 for 5 with a run scored.
Michael Baumann started and allowed 2 runs on 3 hits (1 homerun), walked 3 and struck out 2 in 4.0 innings and was relieved by Joey Krehbiel who allowed 4 runs on 3 hits with a walk in one-third of an inning.
