The Baltimore Orioles belted four homeruns on Tuesday night in Boston. The Red Sox flipped the script from Monday however, winning the contest 13-9. The Birds fought to the very end by loading the bases with one out in the ninth only to ground into a double play and end the threat.

Even Anthony Santander’s two homeruns were not enough on this night. Santander went 3 for 5 with a double, the aforementioned 2 homeruns, 3 runs runs scored and 3 RBI. The two homeruns, one from each side of the plate, marked the fourth time this season that Santander has done that; it was last done in 1996 (Ken Caminiti).

Adley Rutschman (1 for 5, 1 Run Scored, 1 RBI) and Ramon Urias (3 for 3, 1 triple, 1 Run Scored, 1 RBI) accounted for Baltimore’s other homeruns.

Ryan Mountcastle (2 for 5, 1 RBI) and Austin Hays (1 for 5, 1 Run Scored, 1 RBI) both hit triples.

The game was not a good one for Baltimore’s pitchers as Boston tallied their 13 runs by the end of the 4th inning. Starter Kyle Bradish lasted just 2.1 innings, allowing 7 runs on 4 hits (1 homerun), walking 4, striking out 3, hitting a batter and throwing a wild pitch.

Joey Krehbiel (5-5) allowed 2 runs on 2 hits and walked 2 in 0.2 inning of work and took the loss.

Jake Reed surrendered 4 runs, 2 earned, on 2 hits without recording an out.

Four more relievers combined to cover the final 5.0 innings of the game and held Boston scoreless, allowing 3 hits and 2 walks while striking out 4.
