The Arizona Fall League kicked off its 30th season Tuesday night. The League consists of six teams that are rostered by some of MiLB’s best and most promising prospects. The teams are the Glendale Desert Dogs, the Mesa Solar Sox, the Peoria Javelinas, the Salt River Rafters, the Scottsdale Scorpions and the Surprise Saguaros.
For 2022, the Baltimore Orioles have sent the following players to the Scottsdale Scorpions: RHP Noah Denoyer, OF Heston Kjerstad, IF Cesar Prieto, RHP Nick Richmond and OF Reed Trimble.
Those prospects will play alongside players from the Atlanta Braves, the Boston Red Sox, the LA Angels and the San Francisco Giants.
Scottsdale (1-0) opened their season with a 7-4 win over Mesa. Appearing in the game were Heston Kjerstad (3 for 5, 1 2B, 1 HR, 2 Runs, 2 RBI) and Nick Richmond (2.0 IP, 1 H, 1 K, 17 pitches, 13 strikes).
