The Baltimore Orioles lost 8-6 to the Boston Red Sox Tuesday. Late game heroics by Cedric Mullins gave the O’s faithful hope for another comeback. The Birds entered the ninth trailing 8-1. Gunnar Henderson ( 2 for 4, 1 Run, 1 RBI) led off the inning with his second homerun of the season. With the bases loaded and one out, Mullins launched a grand slam homerun to finish the night 1 for 5 with a run scored and 4 RBI. Hopes for a late game rally ended two batters later.

Jorge Mateo went 1 for 4 with a homerun, 2 runs scored and 1 RBI.
Terrin Vavra, who entered the game in the fourth for Austin Hays (0 for 1), went 2 for 3 with a run scored. Hays was hit in the finger on a bunt attempt in the third inning.
Kyle Bradish (1-1) struggled in his start, allowing 7 runs on 8 hits (1 HR), walked 4 and struck out 1 in 2.1 innings, and took the loss.
Mike Baumann allowed 1 hit and struck out 2 in 2.2 innings of relief.
