The Baltimore Orioles avoided being swept in a series for the first time in 2023 with a 6-3 defeat of the Milwaukee Brewers on Thursday. The Brewers started the game by scoring three runs in their half of the first inning. Fortunately, Orioles pitchers held Milwaukee scoreless the rest of the way.

Kyle Bradish surrendered the three runs in the first and then proceeded to retire the Brewers in order in the second, third and fourth innings, striking out the side in the second. He got through the fifth and was taken out after giving up a double to start the sixth to finish with a line of 3 runs on 6 hits with 1 walk and 10 strikeouts in 5.0 innings.

The bullpen took it from there and collectively held the Brewers scoreless the rest of the way allowing just 2 hits and striking out 4 in 4.0 innings of relief.

The Orioles were also held in check until the seventh inning when Ramon Urias (3 for 4, 1 2B, 1 run, 1 RBI, 1 SB) opened the scoring with his 10th homerun os the season. Anthony Santander (1 for 5, 1 run, 1 RBI) doubled home Adley Rutschman (2 for 5, 1 run) in the eighth inning to draw the O’s within one run.

The game turned two batters later on Gunnar Henderson‘s (1 for 3, 1 run, 2 RBI, 1 BB) homerun.

Adam Frazier‘s (1 for 5, 2 RBI) two-run double plated ninth inning insurance runs.

Keegan Akin (1.1 IP, 1 H, 1 K) was credited with the win and is 2-1 on the year while Felix Bautista (1.0 IP, 1 H, 2 K) earned his 16th save.
