The Baltimore Orioles shutout the Toronto Blue Jays 7-0 on Wednesday evening. The day began with a question mark when it was reported the Jack Flaherty had been scratched from the start with no reason given and finished with an exclamation point from the performance of Anthony Santander.
Santander returned to the line-up after sitting out the past three and a half games (he was removed after 4.5 innings on Friday) due to lower back soreness and looked like nothing was bothering him. “Tony Taters” went 2 for 4 with 2 homeruns, 2 runs scored and 2 RBI. Both homeruns were hit to the right-field flag court, one travelling 393 ft. in the fifth inning and the second travelling 370 ft. in the eighth.

Austin Hays went 1 for 3 with a double and a walk.

Stepping in for Flaherty was Dean Kremer (12-5) who allowed 5 hits and struck out 5 in a winning 6.0 inning effort.
Three relievers combined to no-hit the Blue Jays over the final three innings: Jacob Webb (1.0 IP, 1 K), Yennier Cano (1.0 IP) and Shintaro Fujinami (1.0 IP, 3 K).
