The Baltimore Orioles shut out the Chicago White Sox 9-0 on Monday, in front of 12,325 fans including Rock ‘n’ Roll Hall of Fame member and longtime Orioles fan, Joan Jett. Jett joined the MASN broadcast, showed how she learned to throw a screwball by former Oriole Mike Cuellar and even photobombed the 2023 team picture.
Starting pitcher Grayson Rodriguez (4-3) set the tone with his 1 hit, 6.0 inning performance. Making his 18th start of 2023, Rodriguez walked 1 and struck out 6, needing 96 pitches (62 strikes) to do so. A trio of relievers followed his lead: Jacob Webb (0.2 IP, 1 H, 1 BB), DL Hall (1.1 IP, 1 K) and Shintaro Fujinami (1.0 IP, 1 K).
