In a game that took 10 innings to complete and ended close to 1am Baltimore time, the Baltimore Orioles defeated the LA Angels 5-4 on Tuesday. A two-run ninth inning gave the Orioles a 4-3 lead, a short-lived lead however, as that Angels scored a ninth inning two out run of their own off of DL Hall (0.2 IP, 1 R, 2 H, 1 BB).
The Orioles plated the eventual winning run in the 10th without getting a hit. Austin Hays (1 for 5, 1 R) started the inning at second base. A ground out by Gunnar Henderson (1 for 5, 1 2B) moved Hays to third and a ground out by Jordan Westburg (1 for 5, 1 2B, 1 RBI) brought him in. Shintaro Fujinami struck out 2 in the 10th to earn his 2nd save, making Joey Krehbiel (1-0) the winning pitcher; Krehbiel (0.1 IP) got the final out of the ninth inning.

Dean Kremer started and allowed 4 hits with 3 walks and 5 strikeouts over 4.2 innings. Of concern for Wednesday and possibly the start of the Boston series is the fact that Kremer was followed by 7 relievers.
