Friday night in Baltimore was a special one. It was the anniversary of Cal Ripken Jr. playing in 2131 consecutive games, Cal was the Guest Splasher in the Bird Bath and Dean Kremer (7-9) and the Baltimore Orioles shut out the Tampa Bay Rays 2-0.

Kremer tossed 6.0 shutout innings, allowing 2 hits with 3 walks, 7 strike outs and 1 hit batter: throwing a no-hitter through 6. He exited the game in the 7th with the bases loaded on 2 singles and an error by Ryan O’Hearn (0 for 4). Kremer was credited with the win thanks to the bullpen.

Yennier Cano (1.0 IP, 2 K) relieved Kremer and finished the seventh by leaving the three Tampa Bay runners on base. Cionel Perez (0.2 IP, K) turned the game over to Seranthony Dominguez (1.1 IP, H, 2 K) who recorded his 9th save.

Gunnar Henderson (2 for 4, HR, R, RBI) hit his 36th homerun of the season to lead off the 6th inning.

A sacrifice fly by Jackson Holliday (0 for 2, RBI) allowed Colton Cowser (1 for 2, R, BB) to score in the fifth inning.

That was all the scoring the Orioles needed with the way Kremer and the bullpen performed.
