The Baltimore Orioles defeated the Boston Red Sox 5-3 on Tuesday and in doing so narrowed the gap for the AL East lead to 0.5 games (New York Yankees lost 5-0 to Kansas City). A pair of homeruns and a quality start headlined the win.

Cedric Mullins entertained the fan base by hitting homeruns in each of his first two at-bats. Mullins finished the night, going 2 for 4 with 2 homeruns, 2 runs scored, 3 RBI, 1 walk and a stolen base. Since moving to the number two slot in the lineup he is batting .333 (2 for 6) in a very small sample size.

Albert Suarez (8-5) gave the Birds a quality start, allowing 1 run on 4 hits with 2 walks and 8 strikeouts over 6.0 innings pitched. He earned the win for his efforts. It was the 6th quality start (21 starts) of the season for Suarez.

Seranthony Dominguez (1.0 IP, H, 2 K) earned his 10th save after Cionel Perez (1.1 IP, R, H, K) and Yennier Cano (0.2 IP, R, H, BB, 2 K, Balk) each allowed a run to the Red Sox.

Adley Rutschman went 1 for 5 with 2 RBI.

Gunnar Henderson went 1 for 4 with 2 runs scored and a walk.

Every Orioles starter logged at least 1 hit.
