Wednesday’s game between the Baltimore Orioles and the San Francisco Giants began just like Tuesday’s did, with a Mike Yastrzemski lead-off homerun. At least the Orioles scored a few runs this time and, in the end, lost the game 5-3.
Dean Kremer (7-10) did not make a quality start and took the loss. He allowed 5 runs, 4 earned, on 7 hits (2 HR) and struck out 7 in 6.0 innings of work. Kremer also surrendered a solo homerun to Michael Conforto leading off the sixth inning.
Three relievers combined to keep the Giants off the scoreboard over the final three innings.
Gunnar Henderson went 2 for 5 in the contest.
James McCann went 1 for 2 with a double, 1 RBI and a walk while Ryan O’Hearn went 1 for 4 with a double and 1 RBI.
Jackson Holliday went 1 for 2 with a run scored.
Colton Cowser and Emmanuel Rivera both went 1 for 3 with a run scored and a walk.
The Orioles have now lost 9 of their last 12 games.
