Wednesday’s game at Camden Yards started like many others this season. The Baltimore Orioles found themselves trailing the New York Yankees 2-0 following an Aaron Judge two-run homerun in the opening frame.

On this night, however, the Orioles had an answer. Jackson Holliday (1 for 4, R, RBI) singled to start the second inning and scored on a Ryan Mountcastle (1 for 4, HR, R, 2 RBI) homerun to the modified left field wall. Ramon Urias (2 for 4, HR, R, RBI) homered to left as well. Gunnar Henderson (1 for 4, R, SB) singled, stole third base and scored on an Adley Rutschman (2 for 3, R, RBI, BB) single to put the Birds up 4-2 after two innings.

Rutschman walked to open the home half of the fifth inning and scored the team’s fifth run on a Holliday fielder’s choice.

The Yankees scored runs in the fifth and seventh innings but the Orioles held on for a 5-4 win and a 2-1 record in the series.

Cade Povich started and allowed 3 runs on 3 hits, including 2 homeruns, walked 3, struck out 2 and threw a wild pitch over 4.2 innings.

Five relievers took it from there until Felix Bautista secured his fifth save by striking out 1 batter in a clean ninth inning.

Bryan Baker (2-0) took the win for his 1 walk, 2 strikeout eighth inning effort.

Heston Kjerstad went 2 for 4 with a stolen base and was in the center of a meeting of the minds following that stolen base in the fourth inning.
