The Orioles lost to the Milwaukee Brewers 5-4 on Tuesday. The luster of Monday’s home opening win didn’t last long.

Andrew McCutchen‘s 2 RBI double in the first inning gave the Brewers the early lead. Cedric Mullins countered with his grand slam homerun in the second inning. He finished the night 2 for 4 with a double, a homerun and 4 RBI.

A throwing error by Baltimore starter Spenser Watkins led to two unearned runs in the third inning and a tie game.

McCutchen struck again in the seventh inning with a RBI single that scored what would be the winning run. The Orioles did manage to have a runner in scoring position in each of the final three innings, including loading the bases in the eighth, but could not cash in.

Trey Mancini went 2 for 5 with a double. The team managed just three more hits in the game.

Watkins gave up 4 runs, 1 earned, on 4 fits with 2 walks, a strikeout, a wild pitch and a balk over 3.0 innings.

Keegan Akin pitched well in relief and allowed 1 hit and struck out 1 in 2.2 innings of work.

Felix Bautista (0-1) gave up 1 run on two hits and struck out 2 in 0.2 innings; he took the loss.
